Commercial and Residential Pest Control

Our Pest Control Process

We are a company that employs Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles in our work. We try to use pesticides only when necessary and in a strategic way that minimizes both impact and risk.  Our technicians will also help identify food sources for pests so that these sources can be eliminated, making the problem easier to address.  By locating their source and other needed resources and then enacting strategies to rid them of their resources, we will be able to develop long-term strategies to prevent or lessen future pest problems.  As long as pests have easy access to food and water, they will continue to make themselves at home. By working directly with our clients and helping them understand the nature of their pest problem; we can reduce the number of repeated outbreaks and limit the number of service visits.

Our Pest Control Services

At Stop Pest Control of NY, we offer a wide range of programs that can be customized for your specific problem or combinations of problems. Our services range from short-term programs that address immediate problems to long-term integrated pest management solutions.  We work to educate our customers so they may make changes to their environment and behaviors to avoid future problems. In cases where the problem cannot be eliminated we offer ongoing service programs.  This type of service is needed when the real cause of the problem is beyond the client’s control.

Protect Your Business and Home

We can help you protect your business, home, income source, or investment from the negative aspects that pests bring with them when they share our work or living space. We are not a company that performs “cookie cutter” pest control where the protocols followed in every situation are just like the last situation and the next situation. While the pest does not change from place to place the environment does change from situation to situation.

If you are experiencing a pest control problem, please contact our office to be connected to our specialists who will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and devise a strategy to eliminate the issue.  On behalf of Stop Pest Control of NY, we look forward to hearing from you and working with you.

What is Integrated Pest Management (I.P.M.)?

Integrated Pest Management (or IPM) is a strategy for controlling pests using a variety of non-chemical and chemical means, which minimizes risk to people and environment.  IPM strategies identify pest populations early and reduce or eliminate the conditions pests require to survive and reproduce, including food, water and harborage.  IPM resolves pest problems by eliminating pest access; removing pest-required resources and using carefully targeted “least risk” materials when necessary.  When our Certified Pesticide Applicators must use pesticides, they apply them in a way that maximizes their impact on pest population, while minimizing the risk of human exposure.

Types of Services

Ant Control

Proper identification of the ant species is important to determine which material is suitable for control as some respond to baits, while others require void or wood injection treatments.  Trying to locate the nest is crucial to control ants, however this may not always be possible as ants hide within a structure or in a void space.  Ant activity could result from issues such as sanitation, water leaks, structural cracks, etc.  Recommendations to improve sanitation, sealing of cracks and crevices or leaks in conjunction with the application of gels, granular baits and bait stations in will facilitate in elimination of this pest.  Insect Growth Regulators (IGR) may also be used for long term control.

Cockroach Control (American or German)

Inspection of the affected area is done prior to treatment.  Sanitation and structural issues are contributing factors to activity of cockroaches.  The ability to locate the source determines the method of treatment.  A treatment plan is scoped out and implemented, upon compliance of our recommendations.  Monitoring of areas, traps and replenishing bait stations are imperative to help eliminate any activity.  We offer cockroach cleanouts, total aerosol releases, and micro-injector treatments.

Rodent Control (Mouse or Rat)

As with any pest, understanding rodent habits are the key component with any rodent elimination plan.  Proper identification of rodent, locating nest(s), points of entry, food source, harborage and sanitation issues will allow us to construct a treatment plan to combat the infestation.  Sealing of any holes or voids/access points, eliminating food source and maintaining proper sanitation are steps to proactively aide in a rodent free environment.  Stop Pest Control offers rodenticide bait, trapping devices, rodent cleanouts, and mass trapping services.

Flying Insects (Flies, Gnats, Fruit Flies, Mosquitos)

Identification of the specific type of flying insect is done first.  Second, inspection of all known breeding sites is checked; i.e. all drains, grease traps, garbage receptacles, potted plants.  Whether it is cleaning the garbage receptacles, cleaning of drains, replacing soil from plant, removing infested plant, or drying out stagnant water, proper sanitation practices are needed to eliminate the source.  Some of the treatments offered are total aerosol releases, Ultra Low Volume (ULV) fogging and drain cleaning*.

*Drain Cleaning is one of our most effective methods to eliminate one of the most commonly prone sources.  It consists of:

  1. Steam cleaning and power washing of drains or grease traps
  2. Scraping of drains and traps for any food debris
  3. Applying drain cleaner with enzymes
